Aroy in Thai means “yummy” or “delicious”
Pornnapa, was born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand. As a single mother, she originally moved to the U.S. to seek better education and career opportunities for her four daughters. However, her love of authentic Thai cuisine has paid off well beyond her expectations.
Through her persistence, Pornnapa now owns and operates two successful Thai restaurants in the D.C. Metro area. Their second Thai restaurant is Thai Chef located in Dupont Circle.
Early 2013, Pornnapa and her oldest daughter Chalisa foresaw a new market opportunity surrounding Thai food.
In March 2013, they started Aroy Thai Restaurant, created a menu with authentic recipes of their family cooking!
